Adding a Webform to send email without revealing the email address
Use a Webform to send email from a page on the site to a receiver of the email without exposing the email address. This minimizes the capturing of email addresses for spam purposes.
To create a Webform to send email:
- Click Administer > Content Management > Webforms
- Use one of the existing Webforms, such as Message For <person>, as a "template" for the webform. At the right of the entry line, click Edit.
- At the top of the webform, click Clone. This will create a copy of the webform.
- Change the Title, Description, and E-mail To Address.
- Click URL Path Setting. Enter "to" + the person's name with dashes to separate words. For example. to set up a webform for Bill Dornbush, enter "to-Bill-Dornbush" This convention makes is easy to remember how you set up these forms.
- Click Submit.
To link the webform into a page, edit the page's Body. Create a link to the webform:
- Highlight the text and/or image that is the link.
- In the editor toolbar, click Insert/Edit Link (
) - In the Link window, in the URL field, enter a slash ( / ) followed by the URL Path Setting that you created above. Note that Protocol changes to Other.
- Click OK.
- Save the page by clicking Submit.
