Moving this site - to a new server, and to a new version of Drupal

in

My server hosting account at Site5 was expiring.  I needed to do something.  All of my other hosting accounts were on Dreamhost, and, well, it was just easier to use.  I had commented in the forums on Site5 about some of the issues, and was told that they were not significant.  Well, they were to me.  So I decided to close my Site5 account and move to DreamHost.

This also presented an opportunity to migrate the site to Drupal 6.  Given the small amount of stuff on the site, I decided it would be easier to re-implement than to migrate, so I did.  I chose a theme and the modules I needed.  I had had trouble getting Plugin Manager to work before, but it worked fine this time.  I copied and pasted site content, and there I was on the new site.  The longest part of the job, timewise, was waiting for the DNS servers to change to the new host, and this took about 3 hours.

So here I am on my new hosting service, and all looks good.  Now I need to revise site content as some of it is dated.  I keep my client sites much more up to date than this one.  Isn't that the way -- the shoemaker's kids go barefoot.
